 We've talked a lot about the LearnPad from Educational Resources here at the Roundup. It's a great tablet alternative to the iPad and Android devices, especially since it's designed specifically for education. The tablet has been a big hit in Texas this year, and here's the full press release:

 Flagler County Public Schools (FCPS) in Bunnell, FL has adopted Teachscape to help improve teaching effectiveness. Teachscape’s online training and tools will allow teachers and admins to collaborate on professional learning based on fair and reliable teacher evaluations using Charlotte Danielson’s 2013 Framework for Teaching Evaluation Instrument (FFT).
 Today, Sunburst Digital Inc. announced that it will partner with Dual Language Training Institute (DLTI), a Texas-based educational consulting firm, to support DLTI’s customers with its dual-language digital curriculum designed to raise achievement outcomes of Spanish-speaking students.  Edgenuity, one of the leading providers of online and blended learning, today announced that it is the recipient of the 18th Annual Education Software Review (EDDIE) Award in four categories. In addition, Edgenuity’s Common Core ELA 6-8 and Common Core ELA 11 courses were recognized as being the most thoroughly aligned to the Common Core standards among all of the EDDIE winners.
CUE and EdReach Announce Creation of The #EduWin Awards to Recognize Awesome Moments in Education10/15/2013  Exciting news from the folks at EdReach and CUE (Computer-Using Educators). They have just announced they will be launching the EduWin awards to recognize and celebrate awesome moments in education. The winners will be recognized at the annual CUE conference next March.  In September, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation awarded numerous grants for their Literacy Courseware Challenge. The primary goal of this challenge is to provide funding to companies that will use innovative methods to help close the K-12 literacy gap. ConnectEDU, a technology company that is empowering students by informing their academic and career decisions and guiding them on their pathways from school to career, was the recipient of a $500,000 grant, the highest amount awarded.
I recently had the chance to speak with Nick Franco, the Senior Director of Business Development for ConnectEDU, and discuss how the company plans to use this money to build on current innovations and create new technologies to help close the literacy gap.  For all you projector fans out there (or districts/classrooms looking to upgrade your classroom projectors) Epson has just announced the release of two new projector series designed to meet the needs of the K-12 classroom.  PresenceLearning is an online provider of speech therapy and related programs for K-12 schools and families of kids with special needs. They have an excellent program and they've just announced they're expanding it to include a Comprehensive Assessment of Spoken Language (CASL) tool as well. Here's the full press release:
