One of the benefits of working for a small startup is that I get to set my own work schedule. We have three precocious children in kindergarten through third grade, so I make volunteering at their school a high priority. What I have observed is that school has come a long way from what I remember. In my opinion, teachers are better trained and have a much more impressive range of free resources available to supplement their instruction.
