According to Terry Spradlin of the High School Survey of Student Engagement (HSSSE), student engagement has three main components: the students’ investment and effort in school work, the students’ participation in extracurricular and social activities, and the way that students feel about their school situation. In general, the more invested a student is in his/her school’s community, the more engaged he/she is.

Launch of Cloud-Based Mentoring Technology that delivers mentor matches similar to online dating, while providing real-time data to support increased retention and graduation rates.
Picture
Chicago, March 03, 2016 – In response to the urgent need for colleges and universities to retain and graduate students, the Chicago-based EdTech company, Compatibility®, is offering a unique technology that offers a mentoring solution to address problems associated with the high cost of low graduation rates.

Mentor Connect® is being hailed by many as a “breakthrough” technology.  Much like an online dating site, students and mentors each complete a personal profile and respond to sets of questions that are used to make predictions for “best fit.”  The game-changer in the Mentor Connect® technology is that, unlike other mentoring programs, each mentoring program creates and learns from its own matching algorithms.
