According to a recent Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation funded report, 80% of the nearly three-quarters of K-8 Teachers who use digital games in their classroom “wish it were easier to find curriculum aligned games” with only 39% believing “such games even exist.” There is an immense need for a centralized single install where teachers can find games aligned to their curriculum. That’s where new startup Odeum comes in.

Odeum immerses students into 3D virtual worlds of History and Literature where students’ complete quests that promote critical thinking, active participation, and build real-world connections. With over 64 of these Role-Playing Games expected at launch their goal is to eventually offer a matching Role-Playing Game for every lesson. Odeum hopes to achieve this through its newly introduced P2P Marketplace where teachers can create games for the Odeum platform and share in the Revenue.

“The system is really intuitive and it only takes me a couple days to create a role-playing game for a lesson, which I can then re-use year after year saving me time in the end.” – Sean Soules, High School English Teacher at Wyandotte Public Schools
.

You can find out more about the Odeum platform, the Role-Playing games they currently offer, and how to get Early Access on their website.
