Design Challenge Learning and STEAM instruction
“The Tech Interactive is on a mission to power curiosity, and introduce every student to the ways that technology can make an impact,” said Gretchen Walker, vice president of learning at The Tech Interactive. “We’re proud to partner with Discovery Education to provide classrooms across the country with free, engaging resources for Design Challenge Learning, STEAM instruction and more.”
Through Tech for Tomorrow’s digital resources, students will explore technology’s role in solving some of the world’s greatest challenges. Design Challenge Learning is a dynamic way for learners to become problem-solvers by engaging with real-world problems.
"Design challenges have definitely had a positive impact on my students, especially for those who are tactile learners and whose learning style may differ from traditional instructional pedagogy,” said Billy Aguilar, a sixth-grade teacher at Brownell Middle School.
On February 6, 2020, Tech for Tomorrow will launch its first Virtual Field Trip. In addition, a ‘Tech for Global Good’ resource will be released for Earth Day in March 2020.
“Tech for Tomorrow prepares students to think differently about ordinary and extraordinary problems,” said Lori McFarling, president of corporate partnerships at Discovery Education. “Through this partnership, we can ensure that every student can receive the benefits of Design Challenge Learning and experience how the limitless possibilities of technology can make an impact upon our future.”
Tech for Tomorrow resources are available at no-cost at www.techfortomorrow.com and within Discovery Education Experience, a comprehensive digital service that helps build critical thinking, collaboration and communication skills needed for success beyond graduation.
