The Photo Story in the Classroom helps teachers engage students and promotes student achievement by giving students easy to use, multi-media tools to facilitate learning and creatively express themselves. This intuitive app provides a personalized learning opportunity by helping students document their projects and publish their stories with text, photos, audio clips and Doodles in a digital book.
Students also have the ability to print their book (hardcover or paperback) and can pull together their texts, drawings, photos and audio clips into a personalized digital book that can be viewed online and shared via email and social networks such as Facebook.
Shutterfly has a website dedicated to helping teachers integrate Photo Story into their classroom with teacher-developed lesson plans across subject areas (ELA, Social Studies and Science and more) and for all grade levels, each aligned with Common Core/State Standards.
A district-wide license can be purchased which provides in-depth professional development and training for use of the app in the classroom and which also pays for printed books.
