Austin, Texas - December 21, 2016 -  This month, junior students from charter school KIPP Austin listened to founder and CEO Katie Fang’s every word as she walked them through the online platform that simplifies their early college planning. These students are some of the first to give feedback on their experience in the platform.  Katie Fang is the founder and CEO of SchooLinks; an online platform that simplifies college planning for 9th - 11th graders and matches them with the colleges that fit them best. KIPP Austin is an early pilot school with the platform. The feedback of their students will be vital in further development of the software.

“I was impressed with how studious and disciplined these kids were,” says SchooLinks Creative Director Truman Boyes. “They asked good questions and were just really smart. I’m excited to have their input on future iterations of the SchooLinks platform.”

The students were guided through the beginning stages of the platform. The class ended with students swiping through Path, the fun personality quiz that gauges their who they are, suggests careers based their personality, then suggest the college majors to get them there.

“After the class, I had several students come up to me to ask questions about college readiness and learning about their career options now,” says Fang. “They were interested and engaged in their own college planning. I’m glad we got to do this before winter break. Now they can go home and keep pursuing their own college planning on their own.”

SchooLinks is an online college readiness platform that simplifies college planning for 9th - 11th graders and matches students with the colleges that fit them best. Students are equipped to conquer the entire process, from the moment they start thinking about college to the moment they say “yes” to a college acceptance letter.

KIPP Austin Public Schools is a member of the nationally recognized “Knowledge Is Power Program” network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public schools. They are dedicated to preparing students in underserved communities for success in college and in life.
