The new SAT is almost here! And while this new exam might present a few serious annoyances, there’s some good news: it also comes with a new set of tools that’ll help to take you out of the “test prep stoneage.”If you’re not thrilled to start studying for the SAT, I don’t blame you - past methods of preparation didn’t really work.

Fortunately, now that online SAT prep is available, you can tackle your test prep in the comfort of your own home, on your schedule - and if you pick the right program, you can actually improve your scores, too.

That being said, it’s important that you pick the right online course. There are new online prep programs popping up every day. No matter what program you choose, make sure these three requirements are met:

1.  Proven track record of results.

You’re prepping for one reason: to raise your scores. Significantly. Before you look at any of the “bells and whistles” in any online prep program, make sure that the program publishes their results, and that they’re good enough to significantly improve your application.

Green Test Prep has an average SAT score improvement of 346+ points, and an average ACT score improvement of 4.66+ points. No matter what you choose, make sure your program’s results are comparable.

2. Total flexibility.

The entire beauty of online educational tools is that they provide utter flexibility. At least, they should. The best SAT students study in small, consistent chunks throughout the day. Make sure the program you pick:

-Has no limits on usage. You should be able to log in whenever, wherever you want, and use it as frequently as you want without paying extra.

-Has no “set times.” If your online course has set meetings at 11am, 4pm, 8pm, etc., it’s not allowing you to work it into your own schedule. Find something that actually functions like a software.

-Doesn’t limit your device access. Consistency is king, and you won’t always be near your desktop. Make sure your program allows computer, phone, and tablet access from multiple devices so you can always study!

3. A good guarantee.

If you don’t see immediate score improvements, or if you don’t enjoy the experience, you shouldn’t be locked into one online prep option! One-on-one tutors and classroom courses rarely, if ever, offer these guarantees - for online SAT prep courses, this should be a minimum requirement!

Green Test Prep offers a totally unconditional guarantee for exactly this reason. If the program you’re researching doesn’t offer one, run for the hills!

Follow all the guidelines above and you’ll be sure to experience a smooth, successful SAT prep experience. We’re in a new era of test prep - do everything you can to take advantage!

Thanks for reading Lesli!

So the founder of the site has been around and tutoring for the past 10 years. Here's a little more background on the site history, because it used to go by a couple different names:

Hope that helps and have a good weekend!
