Austin, Texas - January 12, 2017 -  Last week, students from the KIPP Public Charter Schools turned in evaluation reports for their new college readiness platform. The surveys they filled out encourage them to apply critical thinking skills to critique and shape their own education. Before the holiday break, these students agreed to test and give feedback on the platform, SchooLinks.

Both positive and negative, the students articulated their thoughts in response to a series of questions that encouraged detailed feedback.

“What makes Schoolinks different than the college search sites I've used before are creative features such as the virtual tour, the personality test, seeing multiple colleges within a certain region on the map, being able to be messaged by colleges, the planner section and probably so much more,” says student Jalen M. “I was genuinely so much more excited about the exploring colleges using Schoolinks than any other college search site. “

Other students pinpointed areas that confused them and were able to give constructive criticism to certain areas of the platform.

“We’re thrilled to have so much invaluable feedback from our students,” says Founder and CEO of SchooLinks Katie Fang. “They expressed their thoughts clearly and intelligently. We’ll take their assessments and upgrade the platform to higher levels.”

The students themselves were delighted to have their opinions valued. “Schoolinks actually gives a student the ability to express themselves, unlike other websites,” says student Brenda P. “It makes the experience of college searching pleasurable and stress-free.”

The KIPP network is one of the fastest-growing and most academically successful non-profit charter groups in the US. With over 200 school across the US, they are dedicated to helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and character strengths they need to achieve high levels.

SchooLinks is an online college readiness platform that simplifies college planning for 9th - 11th graders and matches students with the colleges that fit them best. Students are equipped to conquer the entire process, from the moment they start thinking about college to the moment they say “yes” to a college acceptance letter.
