(SAN MATEO, CA) August 29, 2018 — Today, IXL Learning, the K-12 personalized learning platform used by 1 in 9 U.S. students, announced the release of its iPhone app, which features a complete progression of more than 5,700 skills in math and English language arts. In a single download, the app covers math from pre-K to Calculus and language arts from pre-K to 12th grade, offering endless opportunities for students to explore.

The IXL iPhone app can be downloaded for free on the Apple App Store.

“When developing the IXL iPhone app, we set out to bring students the same high-quality content and captivating experiences they’ve come to know and love on IXL’s other platforms,” said Xing Zhang, Product Manager, Mobile at IXL Learning. “It’s truly rewarding to provide students with these new learning opportunities and we can’t wait to help even more students access IXL on mobile and feel inspired to learn new things.”

Supporting personalized learning
IXL’s student-centered learning experience has been recognized by the SIIA CODiE Awards as the Best Educational App for a Mobile Device for two consecutive years. By bringing this immersive learning experience to the iPhone, IXL makes it even more convenient for learners to work on the skills that meet their unique needs. On IXL, students encounter personalized questions that introduce concepts at the perfect time, at the right difficulty level and adapt to each learner’s understanding. And as they practice, detailed explanations help students grasp new concepts and quickly correct their mistakes. Problems on IXL are also algorithmically generated, rather than pulled from a static question bank. This ensures students can practice as much as they need to truly master each skill, and never see the same question twice.

Engaging learning experiences for mobile

IXL’s curriculum is carefully crafted using diverse question types that feature real-world examples, engaging visuals and immersive problems. For instance, students can practice grammar by dragging the correct punctuation into a sentence or solve algebra equations with interactive graphing tools. The IXL app also includes mobile-specific features such as handwriting recognition, which allows students to enter answers to math questions by writing on the screen. IXL’s enhanced practice screen keeps students motivated to continue learning with a real-time progress bar that shows students how close they are to achieving their next milestone.
