(ENCINO, CA) April 10, 2018 — As part of the 2018 EdTech Awards, Insight ADVANCE, creator of groundbreaking tools for teacher observation, has won the 2018 Cool Tool Award for “Professional Development Learning Solution.” The tool was also honored as a finalist in two other categories: “Collaboration Solution,” and “Video-based Learning Solution.”

The EdTech Awards recognize companies and people in and around education for outstanding contributions in transforming education through technology to enrich the lives of learners everywhere. The edtech ecosystem is now more than 15,000 companies strong, with hundreds of thousands of educators and students using technology to enhance, improve, and transform their everyday work. Now in its eighth year, the US-based program is the largest and most competitive recognition program in all of education technology, recognizing the biggest names in edtech—and those who soon will be. This year’s finalists and winners were narrowed from the larger field and judged based on various criteria, including pedagogical workability, efficacy and results, support, clarity, value, and potential.

“We celebrate who’s who and what’s next in edtech,” said Victor Rivero, the Editor-in-Chief of EdTech Digest who oversees the awards program. “In no other field is the human spirit more alive than education, where educators and supporting technologists are literally shaping our future. Thus, we very proudly recognize, acknowledge, honor, and celebrate the biggest names in edtech—and newer talents shaping the future of edtech.”

Insight's ADVANCE Suite offers educators video-based technology that provides an unprecedented opportunity to improve their practice with the ultimate goal of improving student achievement. Used in schools, districts, and universities across the country, the ADVANCE Suite allows teachers to upload video of classroom instruction; share it with peers, coaches, and observers; and then receive detailed, specific, and timely feedback.

Dr. Michael Moody, the CEO and co-founder of Insight ADVANCE, said, “Given what we know about the ineffectiveness of traditional professional development, this award acknowledges the fact that the field is thinking differently about how to effectively serve the educators in our schools. Kids deserve the best instruction we have to offer, and we are humbled by the opportunity to support the teachers, coaches, and administrators in schools across the country doing the challenging work of educating our kids.”
