Simi Valley, CA, Nov. 13, 2017 – Impero Software is a finalist in two categories for the 2018 Bett Awards: “Company of the Year” and “Classroom Aids for Learning, Teaching and Assessment.” The final judging takes place in December and the winners will be named at a prestigious ceremony in January, 2018 during the Bett Show in London.

The annual Bett Awards is considered among the most prestigious awards programs in the EdTech Industry. It is produced in association with the British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA) and, recognizes outstanding sector resources, learning solutions and companies.

This is the second time Impero has been recognized by the awards program. Impero was named EdTech Exporter of the Year in the 2017 Bett Awards for its customer-centric U.S. strategy. In 2017, Impero had focused development efforts around Chrome OS functionality and launched a marketing effort to announce the production of a comprehensive research paper detailing online safety requirements of each state, new partnerships with non-profit and specialist organizations, and the creation of a U.S. specific web page. It also established dedicated U.S. support, sales and account management teams.

“We are honored to be shortlisted again for this prestigious awards program,” said Sam Pemberton, CEO of Impero Software. “We provide tools and resources to help schools keep students safe in an increasingly digital world, help teachers manage their classrooms and teach with technology, and help school and district IT departments save time and money. Having our efforts recognized by the Bett Awards is validation that what we are doing is working for schools.”

Impero partners with schools to provide online monitoring software that can alert instructors or administrators if it detects students typing or searching for certain keywords related to sexting, cyberbullying, radicalization, self-harm and more. It also provides anonymous reporting features and classroom management tools to help schools and IT departments manage multiple devices, as the use of technology in the classroom continues to rise. Impero also offers EdLink, a mobile device management tool to help schools manage one-to-one initiatives and BYOD programs.

Impero supports schools in keeping students safe online and promoting good digital citizenship. The company has partnered with advocacy organizations to produce white papers at the 2017 and 2016 Digital Citizenship Summits. It also released an Online Safety Handbook this year which provides resources and best practices for schools that are using Impero Education Pro. It released a video earlier this month highlighting the dangers of bullying and sexting, and how online monitoring software can help schools detect problems before they escalate.
