On Wednesday, the Dutch EdTech Startup Gibbon launched an iPad app to bring peer to -peer education to a global scale. Last January, launching its website, Gibbon brought easy to use curation to the EdTech market, opening a unique way to share knowledge in a digital age.

A worldwide Gibbon community has already created over 2500 playlists - a collection of articles and videos from around the web - to help both students and educators teach and learn from each other. Check below for the full press release:

Today we are excited to announce the release of our iPad app, bringing the complete Gibbon library to your iPad and enabling anyone to learn from the best the web has to offer

The need for education beyond the reach of universities has never been more relevant. With an overwhelming amount of information and education available, Gibbon provides a clear learning path that guides you to take the next step in your continuous development, professionally and personally.

Gibbon helps you to stay up to date by following playlists filled with articles and videos that are guided with notes from your teachers — the curators of the playlists — from many different industries.

The website — released january 2014 — was focused on the creation of playlists. Yet, the original vision of the product has always been a more mobile experience. With the iPad app Gibbon makes the best resources for learning available for everyone to consume in a structured and entertaining way.

The app has a seamless connection with the web platform, syncing all your activity and receiving real time updates from teachers.

Bringing the great learning experience of Gibbon to the iPad is the first step to the mobile presence of the learning platform. The iPhone app will be released this November and Android is expected early 2015.

And for those interested, here is a short video of the app in action!

Thank you for posting Micheal. If anybody has feedback on the app or Gibbon itself we would love to hear from you.
