MILWAUKEE (PRWEB) MAY 04, 2017 - Leading edtech company Epiphany Learning™ today announced the acquisition of groundbreaking K-12 competency-based education platform My Learning Collaborative Solution (myLC). The acquisition is a major milestone for Epiphany Learning as it continues its mission to make personalized learning a reality in classrooms throughout the world.

Launched in 2014, Epiphany Learning provides K-12 districts and schools of all types and all learning environments with a scalable Learning Relationship Management (LRM) Platform to harness the power of personalized learning and put learners back in the center of their own education. The acquisition of innovative education platform myLC adds a best-in-class competency-based workflow platform – the most critical link between personalized learning educational technologies and measuring learner progress – to the Epiphany Learning brand portfolio.

The brainchild of education thought leader Kevin Erickson, competency-based education platform myLC provides districts a customized framework to support personalized, interdisciplinary and competency-based learning based on the district’s unique pedagogy. A long-time educator at globally-recognized Kettle Moraine School District, Erickson recognized an opportunity to better facilitate competency-based learning with technology. The resulting platform, myLC, allows classroom teachers to continuously group and regroup students and competencies based on progress – a process that creates greater student ownership and agency. Today, the myLC platform is used by some of the nation’s most forward-thinking districts and schools.

“This is an exciting day for myLC and our customers because the partnership with Epiphany Learning provides the development resources to take our platform to the next level,” explains Erickson. “Epiphany Learning shares my vision for building personalized learning solutions with innovative districts and schools, not for them.” In addition to his role as Director at the Kettle Moraine School for Arts and Performance, Erickson will become a key member of the Epiphany Learning strategic leadership team.

For Epiphany Learning Founder & CEO Laura Henderson, the acquisition of myLC is a major milestone for not only Epiphany Learning, but also for the future of personalized learning. “Our mission to make personalized learning a reality in classrooms throughout the world requires us to seek out and partner with the industry’s most innovative companies,” comments Henderson. “Erickson has developed a compelling competency-based model that complements our personalized learning platform and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome myLC and its customers to the Epiphany Learning brand.”
