CoSpaces Edu is delighted to be joining the Hour of Code movement starting on December 4th 2017 and helping kids learn the fundamentals of programming by offering two fun coding activities for students, viewable in VR and available for free on the CoSpaces Edu website: cospaces.io/edu.

Hour of Code 2017

On December 4-10 2017, millions of students and teachers all around the world will begin an "Hour of Code". The Hour of Code aims to encourage teachers to introduce their students to programming through a one-hour activity, which can be carried out by students on their own as an individual assignment, within a small group, or under their teacher’s supervision.

Activities in CoSpaces Edu

CoSpaces Edu offers two fun and engaging activities based in a 3D space and designed to teach coding through a visual programming language composed of blocks. After each step in the activity, students have the possibility to view the result of their work in VR, adding to the overall creative experience and letting them be immersed in the code they have written. No subscription or download is needed to get access to these activities.

Pirate Plunder

Pirate Plunder takes place in an engaging 3D environment in which students help us to capture his treasure by dragging and dropping visual blocks to write code. Students climb, fight, collect and walk their way through challenges of increasing complexity while learning to create efficient code with loops and write intelligent behaviour with conditions. This activity is targeted to kids aged 7+ and first-time coders.

Robot Rattle

Robot Rattle teaches students to operate a computerized robot. Students are introduced to the robot and their various moving joints, and learn to move their joints with the use of angles. The robot can push and grab objects in order to direct them to the goal. This activity is aimed at kids aged 13+ and offers easy-to-grasp insights into physical behavior and robotics.
