NEW YORK - The innovative next-generation learning management system (LMS) Chalkup announced today that it will drastically improve the implementation and delivery of their LMS by partnering with the company Clever. Through this partnership, Chalkup will now be able to seamlessly sync with any of 130 student information systems (SIS) - including popular solutions like PowerSchool, InfiniteCampus, and Skyward - cutting the LMS implementation period in half for many new schools.

Clever’s service will automatically create, organize and archive teacher and student accounts with Chalkup and keeps roster data updated in real-time. Administrators can use a simple dashboard to ensure the right students have the right access. This partnership will also allow single sign-on for districts using Chalkup and Clever.

Chalkup is a cloud-based platform that has distinguished itself from the LMS pack through its student-centric design, Google Apps for Education integration, time management tools, ease of use, and innovative rubric grading workflows. Educators using Chalkup are able to create assignments, grade, and hold course discussions in one streamlined platform.

When entire schools upgrade to Chalkup Pro, powerful learning analytics and parent access become available. By collaborating with Clever, Chalkup will make it easier for schools to go Pro and ensure the platform connects with a school’s SIS and receives daily updates on users, courses, and enrollments.

“Clever is making it that much easier for schools to get great technology in their classrooms quickly,” said Justin Chando, CEO of Chalkup. “With this partnership, we can ensure that no matter what SIS a school is using we can make getting started with Chalkup easy. It seemed like an obvious pairing for us.”

Clever specializes in helping schools integrate and deploy educational technology at scale in today’s classrooms. More than one in three K-12 schools in the U.S. use Clever today.

“Chalkup is an exciting LMS and a great example of the potential for technology to create a more personalized learning environment for each student,” said Dan Carroll, Co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Clever. “We’re thrilled to have Chalkup on the Clever platform and are looking forward to our ability to improve learning outcomes together.”

About Clever
Founded in 2012 by educators and technologists who knew that widely-available educational apps could improve both teaching and learning, but that tools to deploy and secure the applications were simply unavailable. Today, one in three innovative K-12 schools in the U.S. trust Clever to secure their student data as they adopt learning apps in the classroom. In 2014, Clever won the ‘Crystal Clear’ award by the Digital Innovation Learning Awards. It is also the trusted provider of the American Federation of Teachers, who uses Clever to secure its own ‘Share my Lesson’ platform with its teacher members. Backed by Sequoia Capital, Lightspeed Partners, Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund, and GSV Capital, Clever currently has 100 employees and is based in San Francisco, California.
