(Redmond, WA) May 31, 2017 –– The fast-growing teacher-parent communication app Bloomz has been selected as one of the Top Startup winners of the prestigious TiE50 Awards. The awards, which recognize the world’s most innovative tech startups, were announced on Friday, May 5th, at the Santa Clara Convention Center during TiE Silicon Valley’s annual tech entrepreneurship conference, TiEcon.

“We are thrilled to have Bloomz recognized as a 2017 TiE50 Top Startup Winner,” said Chaks Appalabattula, the CEO of Bloomz. “What started as a solution to a basic need we saw for teachers and parents has grown into an essential tool for parent-to-school communication in the 21st century, currently in use by teachers in thousands of schools across the U.S. and in many other countries around the world. We’re incredibly humbled to see the difference Bloomz is making in the lives of teachers, parents, and students.”

Bloomz is a teacher communication app that provides real-time updates, event and volunteer coordination (including parent-teacher conference signups), and community-building tools to engage with today’s generation of parents. The highly rated app also allows schools to be proactive with their communication, helping teachers reduce communication and coordination time, and getting parents and families involved.

According to TiE50 program co-chair Daniel Zimmer, “TiE50 has become a global brand that attracts thousands of companies worldwide. We screened more than 1,303 companies this year and selected the most innovative 50 companies as TiE50 Winners. TiE50 company presentations were well received at the conference. As a not-for-profit, our vigorous screening and judging adopts multiple regression techniques to ensure process integrity.”

The TiE50 program is in its ninth year. This year, the screening committee included 31 accomplished domain experts and influencers. Judges included senior executives, venture capitalists, and marquee tech entrepreneurs.
