over the summer, which impacts their readiness for the next school year.

TenMarks, an Amazon company, is working hard to reverse this summer learning loss by offering parents and students free access to the TenMarks Summer Math Program. One of the great things for educators is that no additional work is required of them to make this successful for students - they need only share this link http://summermath.tenmarks.com.

Where: The TenMarks Summer Program is available via browser or tablet app (iPad, Android or FireOS).

When: The TenMarks Summer Math Program starts May 19, 2015.

How: Designed to build a strong math foundation for students completing grade 1 through Geometry and Algebra 2, the TenMarks Summer Math Program adapts to each student with a curriculum that moves them forward based on their level of mastery their individual needs.

Starting with a diagnostic assessment, the program automatically creates a personalized summer curriculum, which reviews concepts from the previous year, and introduces them to concepts for the year ahead. As students work through their personalized math curriculum, they use embedded hints and video lessons to refresh what they know while learning new material. The program adapts with targeted interventions for real-time learning assistance.

Insights: In 2014, the TenMarks Summer Math Program helped reverse summer learning loss for over 69% of participating students. And in just 8 weeks, with one-hour of use per week, these students showed an average 11% increase in scores from grade level assessments conducted at the beginning of the TenMarks Summer Math Program.

2014 data also showed that students who scored less than 70% on assessments at the beginning of the program showed the most increase in scores with an average of 16.5%—demonstrating further that gains can be achieved with adaptive, personalized learning.
