(Baltimore, MD) November 2017 — Allovue, a K-12 education finance company, today announced the release of Balance Budget 2.0. The latest version of Allovue’s budget product will allow school districts to create and fund positions, manage staff rosters, and produce staffing and vacancy reports.

“Our partner school districts wanted greater flexibility and control over this critical aspect of their budget development process,” said Jess Gartner, CEO of Allovue. “Over 80 percent of a district’s budget is personnel costs, yet position control and staff rosters are some of the most cumbersome parts of the budget process. Balance is loved by current partners for its user-friendliness and we took the same user-centered approach to these position control and staffing functions.”

Balance Budget offers the most flexible setup of any K-12 focused budgeting product on the market.  With the latest release, Balance Budget will allow users to leverage the position planning system to include a combination of district defined elements such as FTE, job type, position numbers, or employee, and support more use cases, including the option of average vs. actual salary budgeting.

Balance Budget managers can also access staff reports with details about over-assigned employees, budget vacancy/fill rates, position fill rates, and displaced employees. Users can easily view displaced employees and vacancies created in real time as budgets are crafted. New approval flows create an additional layer of communication between HR and Finance departments.

Balance Budget 2.0  is now available to start building 2018-2019 school year budgets.
