(ATLANTA – July 12, 2016) – At ISTE 2016, Tech & Learning recognized two Promethean products with Best of Show awards. The two winners were ClassFlowTM, Promethean’s free software for interactive learning and collaboration; and the ActivPanelTM, which was recently named the most preferred model of interactive flat panel display for K-12 classrooms in the United States, according to data from Futuresource Consulting Ltd.

An anonymous panel of educator judges selected the Best of Show products by scouring the exhibit hall floor during the conference in Denver, which featured 500 companies sharing their solutions with more than 16,000 educators.

The judges rated their impressions on a sliding scale, evaluating areas such as quality and effectiveness, ease of use, and creative use of technology. They then met in person to discuss their ratings and decide which technologies would have the most impact in the classroom and therefore deserve to be named Best of Show.

“We’re thrilled that both ClassFlow and the ActivPanel received Best of Show awards, and especially excited that ClassFlow won for the third year in a row,” said Promethean’s Chief Marketing Officer Vincent Young. “We’re truly honored that the judges recognized Promethean as a leader in both software and hardware. Creating immersive learning environments requires solutions that bring the digital and physical worlds together, wherever students connect to learning. We’ve significantly expanded the capabilities of ClassFlow and the ActivPanel in the past year, and this accolade reaffirms our strength in both categories.”

ClassFlow features interactive lessons, polls, assignments, and more that engage students with learning content. The newest iteration of ClassFlow added thousands of free, teacher-approved interactive lessons, free teacher and student accounts, access to ClassFlow Desktop, rewards for exemplary student behavior, and collaborative lesson-building.

The new ActivPanel, which launched at ISTE 2016, features an externally accessible, upgradeable AndroidTM central processing unit, wireless and BlueTooth® connectivity, more than 500,000 pre-loaded applications, mobile device mirroring, digital whiteboarding, and free access to ClassFlow.

An overview of all Best of Show winners will be included in the August 2016 issue of Tech & Learning.
