Tech Trep Academy is a new, online learning community unlike anything else available to kids today. The interactive curriculum is for kids aged 8-14 and features subjects that directly appeal to youth. What’s equally compelling is that it can also provide real world application. Courses include computer and game programming, Minecraft Modding, 3D printing, digital art/animation, sound mixing, media editing, and entrepreneurship. What makes Tech Trep particularly unique is that it doesn’t stop with simply teaching kids technology skills. The program is designed to help kids move beyond simple lesson learning, encouraging them to create something with their newfound skills and share it with the world.

Tech Trep’s mission is illustrated in the video below, and gives a pretty compelling argument for how this interactive online learning and creating model will impact today’s youth.

Tech Trep Academy aims to make its classes available to all kids regardless of circumstance. To facilitate this, Tech Trep has partnered with NFL Hall of Famer Steve Young’s Forever Young Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the development, strength and education of children. Forever Young enables students in financial need to apply for Tech Trep courses via scholarships.

Listen to firsthand accounts of kids who are already building new skills, or hear how educator and founder, Matt Bowman was inspired to create the company.  You can also learn more on the Tech Trep Academy website.
