Promethean’s free collaborative learning software receives prestigious global recognition

(ATLANTA) August 17, 2016 – Promethean is pleased to announce that ClassFlow, free collaborative learning software for the modern classroom, has won a 2016 Worlddidac Award. Presented by the Worlddidac Foundation, this prestigious award recognizes high quality and innovative educational products that support the continuous improvement of teaching and learning.

“We’re thrilled that ClassFlow has received a Worlddidac Award,” said Vincent Young, chief marketing officer at Promethean. “These awards are recognized around the globe as a seal of approval for cutting-edge solutions that have strong educational foundations. ClassFlow is easy to use and makes learning fun and engaging for students. By creating a digital environment that increases excitement and nurtures curiosity, we can empower teachers and motivate students to achieve their best.”

ClassFlow is used in more than 154 countries and 50,000 schools around the world. ClassFlow integrates free and premium curriculum content with an engaging lesson-delivery application that works with Chromebooks™, tablets, notebook computers, and more. ClassFlow also extends the learning environment beyond the classroom and into the home or wherever students connect and continue learning. The ClassFlow Marketplace is an open community where teachers can earn extra cash by buying and selling original teaching resources such as digital lessons, unit plans, assessments, teaching guides, and worksheets.

For more than 30 years, the Worlddidac Award has stood for quality in the educational industry, thanks to the highly professional evaluation process and continuity of the program. At BernExpo in Bern, Switzerland, a panel of Swiss teachers and a panel of internationally renowned education experts led by Peter Gloor, a research scientist at MIT in Boston, spent five days evaluating numerous products from Argentina, Australia, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, South Korea, and Switzerland.

Submitted products went through a comprehensive, transparent, and time-consuming evaluation process. The teacher judges concentrated on the practical use of the teaching material, while the panel of education experts reviewed presentations from the companies that had submitted their products.

Products with their own learning content, such as ClassFlow, were evaluated against five criteria that represent the hallmarks of a quality solution: 1) design and performance; 2) user experience; 3) benefits; 4) innovation; and 5) pedagogical value. The process also included a public vote, which the judges considered when making their final decisions.

Chairman of the judges Peter Gloor said, “It is always a great pleasure to evaluate such a big variety of interesting and innovative educational products.”

Winners will receive their awards in Bern on November 8, 2016, during a celebration ceremony at the World Education Days educational fair.
