ABCmouse.com® Early Learning Academy has a wide range of award-winning content for preschool-2 students. The overall goal of ABCmouse is to provide content and a curriculum that helps preschool-2 students prepare to be 3rd grade ready in both literacy and math.  Their content is composed of more than 8,500 standards-based learning activities, in addition to over 850 prebuilt lessons, all of which can be used on any web-enabled device.

Edthena: Analyze Teaching Using Classroom Videos and Online Collaboration

Edthena is an online platform that allows teachers to record videos of classroom teaching and then share those videos with peers, coaches, and administrators in order to get feedback and engage in a collaborative conversation about their teaching.  It’s an incredibly user friendly platform that offers a lot of potential benefits for teachers and coaches, plus it can be used across all device and OS types.  Let’s take a look!

SchoolTakt: Interactive, Digital Whiteboards for the 1:1 Classroom

SchoolTakt is a new Japanese educational tool that has just been introduced to English speaking audiences.  At its core, the tool is designed to be an interactive, digital whiteboard to be used in 1:1 classrooms where students have access to their own devices.  Teachers can use SchoolTakt to send out images or slides to their students, and then have a live view of how students are interacting with what they sent out.  If you’re familiar with Classkick, SchoolTakt is very similar.

Rug-ED Technology Protection Systems: iPad Protection Solutions for K-12 Schools

In general, I try to avoid writing reviews of cases, carts, and similar products.  However, when I met the Rug-Ed team at ISTE this year I was impressed, and felt like it would be beneficial to share what they’re all about.  In short, Rug-Ed is all about providing protection for K-12 iPads, but the team goes beyond just having an excellent case.  

​In addition to their cases, they’re the only company (that I know of) that also offers unlimited, zero deductible, iPad repairs for any iPad that was damaged while inside one of their cases.

Smartick: Online Math Learning Program for K-8 Students

Smartick is a web, iOS, and Android app that is designed to provide students with 15-minutes a day of math practice.  If you’re familiar with Kumon or Russian Math, Smartick is meant to be an alternative to these types of after school math programs.  Smartick is a monthly subscription service, that typically runs at $50 a month. While that is certainly pricey, the team does offer a free trial so you can see if it’s a good fit.
