Defined STEM Professional Development for PBL Schools and Classrooms

We have previously reviewed Defined STEM here at the Roundup, and it’s an excellent platform that offers an enormous collection of pre-created problem and project-based learning resources for all core subjects in K-12.  Now, the Defined STEM team has released a new collection of online PBL training modules that can be used in conjunction with Defined STEM, in preparation for a Defined STEM rollout down the road, or even by folks who are not Defined STEM users. 

​Overall, the online training guides teachers on how to effectively create, teach, and assess performance tasks in the classroom.

Zinc Reading Labs: Online Reading Support for 6th-12th Grade Students

​Zinc Reading Labs offer test-prep based literacy tools to help secondary students become college ready.  It is a supplemental online literacy program that combines engaging vocabulary games, high-interest text, gaming elements, and detailed reports for both middle and high school students.  Zinc Reading Labs combines vocabulary instruction with test-prep strategies along with activities for helping students develop close reading skills.
