TinyTap is a preK-12 educational platform that can be used to create interactive games and then share and sell those games through their online marketplace. While TinyTap does offer a Pro version, the free version of the platform has a lot to offer and can be a great classroom resource for teachers and students alike. TinyTap can even be used by students to create their own interactive games as a way to present and share what they’ve learned.

This past week I had a chance to test out and review Epson’s new BrightLink 697Ui Projector from their 600 Series Projector line. This projector can turn any whiteboard or wall into an interactive, 100-inch screen. You can use up to six fingers, and the two included digital pens to interact with the screen, and the image quality is outstanding.
While the cost may be prohibitive for some schools to consider, if you are in the market for new projectors, I absolutely recommend considering the Epson 600 Series. Learning First, Technology Second is a new ISTE publication from Liz Kolb that is meant to “provide teachers the professional learning they need to move from arbitrary uses of technology in their classrooms to thoughtful ways of adding value to student learning.” Overall, I think the book does an excellent job of meeting that goal, and it is chock-full of practical ideas and strategies that span grade levels and subject areas. The Technology Coordinator’s Handbook is designed to offer “readers of the book – whether they are technology coordinators, teacher educators, or administrators… a 360-degree view of the technology coordinator’s role and a new appreciation for teaching and learning with technology.” I believe the book does an excellent job reaching the goal, and overall I think it is a wonderful resource for anyone interested in the role of technology coordinator, or technology leadership in the general.
