In addition to their cases, they’re the only company (that I know of) that also offers unlimited, zero deductible, iPad repairs for any iPad that was damaged while inside one of their cases.
The case itself is great. It’s made from a hard plastic and includes screen protection as well. It can definitely handle being dropped, hit, tossed around, or anything else a typical K-12 student could throw at it.
In addition to the case, you get a tri-fold stand as well. Overall, the stand is great, and an improvement over their previous screw on stand.
But the really great part about Rug-Ed is that if you purchase more than 100 units, you automatically are qualified for their warranty program which offers free repairs on any iPads that are damaged while in their case. The plan runs at $49 for one year, $59 for two years, and $69 for three years (per device/case). If your iPad is damaged while in the case, you can take it to a local repair center and they will fix the device and return it to the school free of charge.
The Rug-Ed warranty also covers the case, so if your case happens to be damaged when the iPad is, it will be replaced as well.
If an iPad happens to get damaged, you can take it to your local Rug-Ed certified vendor. Typically, when Rug-ED works with a new customer, those customers already have a vendor that they like working with that are local. In these cases, the Rug-Ed team will reach out to that vendor to make sure they meet their requirements (pricing, capacity, turnaround time, warranty, etc.) before making them a Rug-Ed repair center. If a customer doesn’t have a preference, the Rug-Ed team will set them up with someone close (or one of our existing vendors). Some schools prefer to drop off damaged iPads, some prefer to ship them, and some leave it up to the parents to drop them off at the repair shop. In short, their goal is to offer flexibility in how schools approach the repair process.
Overall, it’s great to see a company standing by their product and offering zero deductible device repairs, particularly for the K-12 environment!
