ReMarkable: Paperless Grading (Updated!)

ReMarkable (which you may remember from our earlier review here at the Roundup) launched their new paperless grading application almost a year ago, and since then have come a long way with thousands of loyal users worldwide. The concept behind ReMarkable is to eliminate the use of paper when it comes to submitting assignments for teachers to grade.

As mentioned in the first review, when downloading ReMarkable for free, teachers/users are given a @remarkablegrades.com email account and this unique identifier is now used to accept any type of file directly into the application.  Teachers can now manage all the files being submitted to the app with their Smart Folder System, annotate them on the go, and with one tap return the graded document back to students.

Since the first launch, the team at Seedless Apps has been hard at work preparing the release of ReMarkable 2.0 and all the new functionality being included has come from teacher recommendations.  The new ReMarkable 2.0 has a completely redesigned user interface and tons of new functionality.

With 2.0 you can now upload/create class lists, and this can now allow teachers to build a repository where they can store grades for individual students throughout the year for all submitted documents.  You can also create customized grade sheets where all the grades will be stored, and then at the end of the semester or year you can export everything as a PDF.

While you are annotating documents now, they have added a marking ribbon that allows you associate the document you are marking to a specific student in your class list and a specific grade sheet.  In a matter of 2 minutes you can grade an assignment, store the grade and allocate it to a student in your classroom.

The app is still being offered for FREE thanks to popular demand and lots of support, so that teachers can enjoy the benefits of paperless grading.  You can download the app here, or check out our previous review to learn more.
