QuizBean is a new, free web-app that allows teachers and students to quickly and easily create online quizzes.  You can share your quizzes via email or social media and students don't even need to create an account to take a quiz.  It has some great educational possibilities, so let's check it out!

Before we get started, if you want to see an example of QuizBean in action, you can click here to try out their sample quiz (turns out it's surprisingly challenging to distinguish between Zeppelin lyrics and Lord of the Rings quotes).  Also, as of November 2013, the team has added some great new features which are discussed at the end of the review.

OK, back to the app... After you sign up for your free account, you'll be if you want to create a quiz, a class, or add students.  Adding classes and students is incredibly straightforward, and the site will prompt you for all the information it needs.

Getting Started with QuizBean

If you're going to start making a quiz, you'll need to provide a title and then you can begin creating questions.  The interface is incredibly user friendly, and you can add multiple choices to your questions, images, and even explanations.

Adding Questions

When you're all finished with your quiz, you can send it out via link, email, Facebook and/or Twitter.  Then, your students can head over to QuizBean and try it out.  While the students are taking the quiz they will see a running total of their score and percentage so they can keep track of how they're doing.

New Features...

Quiz Bean has just released a ton of new features that will make their service even better for classroom use.  First up, automatic results.  As soon as your students complete a quiz, the results are automatically sent to your teacher dashboard so you can see how they did. Plus, they've updated their "send" feature to make it even easier to send out your quizzes.

You can also include multiple choice questions now, which is a huge step forward.  That feature, plus the ability to include pictures, and randomize questions, makes QuizBean incredibly well suited for education.

Finally, they've updated the teacher dashboard to let you manage your quizzes, classes, and students more easily.  It's a great addition and makes what was already an easy-to-use interface even better.

With these new updates in place, QuizBean is absolutely deserving of:

My teachers are taking a more wait and see approach. So many companies claim their product works all the time. So far none of the companies do.
