sciNote is a new resource that is designed to help scientists organize, store, and share data as well as collaborate on experiments. It’s an excellent resource for those working in the field, but it also holds a great deal of potential for use in high school science classrooms. Flipgrid is a new K-12 resource that is designed to promote open discussion between all students within your classroom. Teachers post topics, videos, or links for discussions and students respond to the prompt and to each other with short video reflections. It’s a wonderful resource, and Flipgrid offers a free plan as well for those who want to give it a try.

This review might be a little out of the vein of what we typically focus on here at the EdTech Roundup, but as a piano and percussion instructor for nearly 20 years, I have a deep-rooted passion for the incorporation of music and fine arts into K-12 education. I strongly believe that music education can be both a powerful and empowering component of a student’s education and I believe it’s a shame that so many schools have moved away from music requirements and integration.
Therefore, I’m always incredibly happy to see products like Cantata Learning’s new story books which incorporate music and movement in engaging and enjoyable ways. Read the complete review here.
