Based on a series of in-depth interviews with employees at cutting-edge organizations, as well as site visits to workspaces and strategic foresight research into current trends, “The Future of Learning: Redefining Readiness from the Inside Out” explores how career readiness may be redefined to better prepare students for an uncertain future.
Specifically, the paper considers key attributes needed for success, including deep self-knowledge, emotional regulation and social awareness.
Students from Notre Dame High School (San Jose, CA) created "Towards the Same Dream,” (Por el mismo sueño) a bilingual book about day workers that includes personal narratives and superhero comic strips. “Towards the Same Dream” was created through visiting the Day Worker Center in Mountain View (Mountain View, CA) and interviewing day workers in English and Spanish.
The ultimate goal of the project is to bridge cultural divides and to educate the community about the lives, struggles, and joys of the day worker community.
